Gus Bates III, CLU has specialized in Life Insurance and Business Insurance as well as products and services for Estate Conservation with John Hancock for more than 30 years.
Gus is a Past President of the Fort Worth Association of Life Underwriters. He has served on the John Hancock Financial Network Associate Advisory Board. He is the recipient of the Fort Worth Association of Life Underwriters Agent Service Award and the John Hancock Vincent C. Bowers Field Quality Award, the company’s highest award for quality, excellence and leadership. In addition, he has been honored as a John Hancock Cabinet member for 24 years and the insurance industry’s Million Dollar Round Table [MDRT] for 30-plus years.
Gus graduated from Texas Christian University in 1966. He earned his LUTCF designation in 1976 and his CLU professional designation in 1979.
Gus and his wife Sheryl make their home in Fort Worth, where they have been active members of the community for many years. Gus has served on the Boards for the Boys and Girls Club of Fort Worth, Sports Advisory for Park and Recreation of Fort Worth, Young Life of Fort Worth and the Epilepsy Foundation of Fort Worth. He also volunteers with the Bobby Bragen Youth Foundation and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Gus currently serves as Board Chair for United Cerebral Palsy of Tarrant County.

Daniel [“Dan”] Prescott joined his father in the life insurance industry in 1982, and quickly achieved significant success. In 1983 he was recognized as a leading “Young Sales Associate” within John Hancock and was one of only 50 new representatives to be selected for the “President’s Candidate Workshop”. One year later Dan was named 'Junior Associate of the Year' for the entire company, a title held until 1986.
In both 1987 and 1988 Dan was distinguished as a regional leader within the company in disability income sales. He continued to excel in his field by achieving the top position as the company's 'National Leader in Life Insurance sales' in 1990. That year Dan achieved sales levels that assured the honor of the company's “Leading Representative of the Year” --- he was the youngest member of this elite group at that time. He has been a member of the exclusive John Hancock President’s Cabinet since 1989.
Dan is an active member of the insurance industry’s Million Dollar Round Table [MDRT]. In 1993 Dan was honored as a speaker at the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table meeting held in Boston, Massachusetts.
The National Association of Life Underwriters presented Dan with the “National Quality Award”, in 1993, 1995 and 1996.
He has assumed a leadership role for a number of non-profit organizations in the community; currently serving either as a board member or officer. In October of 1994 Dan was selected from an eligible group of more than 7,000 young people to receive the I. Zesmer Leadership Award for outstanding service by the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas. He was especially pleased to be selected to serve as the Campaign Chair for the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas in both 1995 and 1996. Under his leadership in 1996, the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas raised more than $7.5 million, achieving the largest increase in the Federation’s history for the annual fund raising campaign. He served as President at the Akiba Academy of Dallas for the 2000-2002 school year. In 2003 Dan was honored with the Thelma Gerson Volunteer Award, for outstanding volunteer service to Akiba Academy.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the 'Make a Wish' Foundation, as Vice President of the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas Vice Chairman Elect of the Dallas Jewish Foundation, Executive Committee member of the Planning and Allocations Committee of the Jewish Foundation, 2005 Dallas Maccabii games fundraising Chairman and Chairman for the Schultz Rosenberg Capital Campaign for the Akiba Academy & Yavneh Academy Campus.

Michael [“Mike”] Smith joined John Hancock in 1993, after almost 20 years in the business arena, serving in a variety of roles with ever-increasing responsibility. Mike specializes in products and services for financial and estate planning and investments. His business background has given him a unique “hands-on” understanding of the financial needs of the small business owner.
Mike was named “Junior Associate of the Year” in 1993 for our firm, his first year with John Hancock. That same year he was honored with the GAMA “Yearling Award” for the Dallas metroplex, recognizing outstanding achievement during the recipient’s first year in the insurance industry.
Mike received the Vincent C. Bowhers Field Quality Award, the company’s highest award for quality, excellence and leadership, for four years.
Mike serves on the Fidelity Advisory Council and the Evergreen Funds Advisory Council.
Mike qualified for the insurance industry’s Million Dollar Round Table [MDRT] for the years 1993 through 2003. He is also a member of the company’s prestigious recognition program, “The Pinnacle Club”. Mike has been recognized through the “President’s Conference” [honor club] for the years 1993 through 1998, and 2000 through 2003. In 1999 he qualified for the President’s Cabinet honor club.
He has served as Vice-President of the Dallas Chapter of the International Credit Association, and as a Board Member of the Texas Debtor Rehabilitation Program. Mike is a member of the Dallas Estate Planning Council, the American Society of Charter Life Underwriters and NAIFA - Dallas.
Mike attended Santa Anna College. He and his wife Trudy have lived in the Plano area for more than 15 years, where they are active members and Sunday School teachers for Fellowship Bible Church North.

Dan Wilensky joined John Hancock in mid-1998. He was recognized as the leading first year associate of the year after just six months with the firm, as “Rookie of the Year”. In 1999 he was also recognized as the firm’s 'Associate of the Year' at the Annual Dallas GAMA [General Agents and Managers Association] Awards Banquet.
He subsequently led the western region of the country for the company in 1999, as the leading associate in long term care insurance.
Wilensky, a native of the White Rock area of Dallas, is a graduate of Texas Tech University [B.A.] and Dallas Theological Seminary [Th.M.]. Dan’s business background includes a lengthy career in the residential construction industry.
A North Texas Presbytery Licensed Minister with the Presbyterian Church of America, Dan has served in the capacity of Pulpit Supply Preacher since 1996. He has taught Bible Studies and Sunday Schools for ages five through 95, including groups for singles and married couples. From 1976 through 1979 he was a Young Life Counselor for Richardson High School.
His community involvement history includes a stint as Board Member [1990 - 1995] and Board President [1993 – 1995] of the Dallas Crisis Pregnancy Center, Board Member/Chairman of Personnel Committee of the Logos Academy [now Cambridge School of Dallas] and Co-Chair of the Parent Council for Providence Christian School of Dallas [1992 - 1993].
Dan, who has a great love of history, is a member of the Dallas Historical Society. He and his wife Carol, who is a registered nurse, have two daughters, and still make their home in the White Rock area.

Paul Faidley joined John Hancock in 1996, to specialize in asset protection for the mature market; with an emphasis in long term care insurance.
His honors with John Hancock include qualification for the prestigious President’s Conference [Honor Club] in 1997 and the “Key Person Award” in both 1997 and 1998. He has been a firm “Standard Bearer” for the past six years, a distinction indicating that the recipient is demonstrating the skills and experience level necessary on a daily basis to meet or exceed the company’s annual performance standard. Paul was also honored with the 1999 Career Achievement Award from [FWAIFA].
Prior to joining John Hancock, Paul was with Story Electric Company of Dallas for 11 years. He graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1993 with a BBA in Business Management. A 1985 graduate of DeSoto High School, he was a member of the National Honor Society and Freshman and Junior Varsity Baseball. He enlisted in the Army Reserves in 1985; he currently holds the rank of Major. Paul recently returned from active duty in Iraq, where he was awarded the Bronze Star.
Paul, his wife Ann and their two children make their home in Mansfield, TX. Paul is a member of FWAIFA and the Society of Financial Service Professionals.

Walter Kinworthy brings more than 30 years of experience to his professional practice with John Hancock. Since joining Hancock in 1969, Walter has held a variety of positions with the company, including that of Sales Manager, Regional Supervisor and District Manager. During his tenure as a marketing representative, Walter has qualified for eight company honor clubs; five times as a marketing representative and three times as a sales manager. In addition, Walter served as a Regional Sales Manager from 1979 through 1981, and a District Manager from 1981 through 1991.
Walter is also a 'Standard Bearer', achieving that status every year since 1996.
Walter, who was born in New Orleans, LA, had the opportunity to live in several different major cities while growing up; St. Louis, MO, Long Beach, CA, San Francisco, CA, Portland, Oregon and Fairbanks, Alaska. He’s a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the US Army Medical Corp in 1967 -68.
Walter and his wife of 30-plus years, Shirley --- a San Antonio native, make their home in Ft. Worth. Walter is a member of LUPAC and GAMA.

Igor Maskov joined John Hancock in June of 1994. He provides financial products and services including life insurance, disability income insurance*, long term care insurance, mutual funds and annuities. He very much enjoys working with people, helping them to protect their families and achieve their financial goals.
Igor is a “Standard Bearer” for the organization, an achievement signifying that the recipient is demonstrating the skills and experience level necessary on a daily basis to meet or exceed the company’s annual performance standard.
Igor emigrated from Tashkent, Uzbekiston in Russia in 1989. His wife Julia came to the United States from Kiev [Russia]. Igor’s parents and sister, as well as Julia’s parents also live in the US. Both Igor and Julia became US citizens in the spring of 1999.
Igor began his college studies in Russia, and then completed his college work at Brookhaven and Richland Community Colleges after his arrival in Dallas.
Igor, Julia and their children make their home in Plano. Igor is a member of NAIFA - Dallas.
